Cabin elevation
A cab elevation ensures that the cab is positioned higher on the excavator. This gives the operator better visibility to work efficiently and safely. An additional advantage is that falling rocks or scrap are less likely to hit the cab. There are two types of elevations for Liebherr excavators:
- Fixed elevations
- Hydraulic elevations
Hydraulic elevations are used both to replace fixed elevations and to install a first elevation. This type of elevation offers more flexibility than a fixed elevation, but the costs are higher because more components are required. In addition, it also provides the operator with more comfort and safety, as the operator exits from a lower height.
Cabin protection
Cab protection is vital in hazardous environments. An unprotected cab, consisting of glass and thin metal, cannot withstand rocks, collisions, impacts with other vehicles, or the excavator tipping over due to ground subsidence. Thick steel cab protection provides a safe working environment for the operator. We see that cab protection is installed on excavators both with and without damage.
