What is a final drive?
A final drive for a Liebherr machine converts the power from the travel motor into movement. It ensures that you can operate your excavator, wheel loader, or crawler crane. A final drive consists of the following components, among others:
- Sun gear
- Carrier
- Housing
- Planet gear and planet gear carriers
- Multidisc
- Brake housing
Advantages of second-hand final drive
A used final drive is a good alternative to a new part. The lower price of a used part makes it accessible to keep a Liebherr machine operational, especially if the machine has already been depreciated. In addition, not all parts for older Liebherr machines are available new. Grovema has many parts in stock as standard, so your Liebherr machine can be operational again quickly. In this way, we all contribute to a circular economy.
If a single part of the final drive needs to be replaced, we recommend installing a used part instead of a new one. When you use a new part, it can actually cause the other parts to wear out more quickly. A used part is also worn in, whereas a new part is harder and sharper.
